COVID-19 Precautions

TBBCT has a COVID Safe Plan and we are taking actions to protect our clients, volunteers, staff and community.

  • Our team members are vaccinated and know not to come to work if they are unwell.
  • We can’t provide transport for people with a fever or flu-like symptoms, or those going to COVID-19 testing.  If you need to cancel your trip, please call the office on 1300 875 895.  If it’s out of hours you can leave a message.  Our driver will also check you are well when they arrive to pick you up.  Whilst TBBCT can’t drive you, we may be able to organise a taxi or fuel voucher to get you to a testing site, please ask.
  • All vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected at the end of every day.  Seat belts, door handles, grab bars and other frequently touched areas, are also disinfected throughout the day.
  • Face masks are mandatory on public transport, by public health order and this includes community transport services.  Please wear one.  Masks are available in each vehicle should you need one.
  • We strongly prefer that you pay for your trip by card, which can include the NSW Regional Seniors Travel Card.  We can accept payment on our eftpos machines when you make a booking, or in the vehicle.
  • We have been providing transport for medical appointments in Qld throughout the pandemic and will continue to, so long as we are able.  The situation changes regularly, but if a border pass is required you will probably need to organise this yourself.
  • Our individual trips are organised to maximise social distancing where possible, however due to limited resources you might be asked to share transport.  You may wish to sit in the rear passenger side seat, as this provides the greatest distance between yourself and the driver.
  • Some of our bus trips have shorter days now.  Socials will only go into Qld at times when the border is completely open and no passes are required.
  • In the event of a lockdown, some discretionary services, such as social or recreational outings may need to be suspended.  We would notify you if this happened.
  • Our team members have all completed infection control training.
