Fees

TBBCT is a not for profit organisation.  Trips provided through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Community Transport Program (CTP) are highly subsided.  However the funding we receive through these programs  does not cover all our costs, so we ask for a fee contribution from our clients towards the cost of their travel.  We do aim to keep our fees affordable and carers can travel with their loved one free of charge on all of our services.   If you are unable to pay due to financial hardship, you can speak with the service administrator about paying a reduced amount.

Costs

Fees for individual transport vary depending on the distance traveled.  The following amounts are indicative of trip costs.  The actual amount may vary slightly, depending on exactly where you are travelling to and from.
Tweed Shire fees for CHSP and CTP clients
Byron Shire Fees for CHSP and CTP Clients
Ballina Shire Fees for CHSP and CTP Clients

From January 2022, all shopping buses cost $10, with the exception of Ballina to Tweed City, which costs $15.  Social buses cost either $17 or $20 depending on whether or not morning tea is supplied.  You will also need to pay for your own lunch and other expenses.  Venues are chosen with affordability (and accessibility) in mind.

The cost for NDIS participants’ individual transport is $2 per kilometre, with a minimum of $14 for a one way trip, or $28 return.

Payments

Card is our preferred option, as we wish to minimise cash handling.  You can pay over the phone when you make a booking, or with the driver on the day.

If you cannot pay by card, we also accept cash, cheque payable to Tweed Byron and Ballina Community Transport or direct deposit organised through our accounts department.
